Anthony Q. Newman Foundation
Giving. That's the one word that best describes Anthony Newman. While many professional athletes are defined solely by what they accomplish on the field, Anthony chooses to distinguish himself off the field as well. Few professional athletes have dedicated as much time to community service as Anthony.
The Anthony Q. Newman Foundation got its start in 1994, when Anthony and fellow hometown hero J.J. Birden began offering a free (that's right, FREE) summer football camp. About 65 kids showed up the first year. Over time, word spread, and the camp now hosts about 1500 children each year. And true to Anthony's mission — giving back to the community that gave him the opportunity to succeed — it is still offered at no charge to participants.
